A drive in the Peaks

During our September holiday to The Peak District I of course had my camera poised at all times to take photos!  It is just a part of me and I take photos all the time.

Although our weather was mixed, sometimes we had glorious weather interspersed between the rain....   One morning we were driving somewhere - which I will share in another post! - and the weather was perfect, warm, but not hot, dry, sunny and as you can see with white puffy clouds in the sky.

So while Hubby drove I sat and took photos.  Most of which I have deleted due to blurriness, reflections in the windows, shots of the roof of the car, my fingers and so on!  I was left with these twenty to share with you today.  Sit back and enjoy the drive with me!

Hope you enjoyed it!

  2. A very enjoyable drive, Amy. It looks pretty, as well as warm and sunshiney. I do love the gentle rolling hills of England. And well done on the car photography. I am always doing this too, but most of them end up deleted :)

  3. Beautiful! Your pictures tugged my heartstrings today Amy. We've just moved from the Peak District to Devon and although I do love Devon the Peak District will always hold a precious place in my heart.

  4. Stunning photos Amy, the countryside at it's best. When I shoot photos in the car
I use a Sports mode for moving objects, and it works a treat.

    Hope this helps.

  5. It's a beautiful part of the world, isn't it? I do enjoy being the passenger rather than the driver so that I can sit back and enjoy all the beautiful scenery when we're travelling anywhere like this.

  14. All these pictures are beautiful and amazing! But I kept thinking the cars are on the wrong side of the road.... lol. I have dear friends from England and when they moved here they said that was quite a challenge! Have an amazing day!!

    Blessings,

  15. I did enjoy it. The Peak District is one of the few parts of England we're never visited.

  21. I so enjoyed seeing this beautiful countryside with you Amy. I love sheep, stone houses and fences, and beautiful vistas! The 'peaks' are interesting too. I remember driving through areas like that when we were there and one of your photos looks like a similar view that I took on that long ago trip, which I'm sure is similar to many spots in rural England! Thanks for the lovely tour!

  23. It was strange to open this post and see all these photos of Home! The school where I worked for 11 years (and attended myself) is off the road you travelled and that's a road I travelled daily for the first 23 years of my life, until we moved. I still drive it often though and often take similar photos!

  27. Gorgeous Amy, but you bloggers sure know how to make me homesick for that beautiful northern scenery, even though I'm not English. Boo-hoo, wish I was there. Have a great weekend and take care. Thanks!

  28. Really enjoyed the ride, thank you. I live in Derby but wouldn't normally see these views as you do need a car and I don't drive. Thanks again.

  29. Just noticed after another viewing...there's no pylons or windmills in your photo's ( except the last picture...and I think that is some sort of radio mast)

  30. Love looking at your English countryside. Everything looks so green still. Here in the U.S. east coast we have colors on the trees now. If you get a chance check out my last blog post "SPLASHES of color in October". (LIVING AN ORDINARY LIFE blog).

  34. Some of your photos look very much like the New Zealand country side - apart from all those stone walls.

  36. Love this Amy!! I can never get enough of seeing a different side of the world from mine. So pretty, and to you common landscape probably, - but so unique to me. I loved joining you on your trip. Thanks for taking me! ;)

Blessings on the weekend ahead Sweetie. xoxo
